Mesa Falls

What do you do when your house is blazing hot because you don't have AC... if you are in our family you go for a drive. It seems it's the only way we can beat the heat during the summer. Last weekend we loaded up Beckham, stopped by the convenient store bought fountain soda and some sun flower seeds and we were off, on our way to Mesa Falls. They were really cool to look at. It was a fast drive but just long enough to get us out of our steaming hot house...
All I have to say is bring on the fall weather!

Pink earings

Today is my 32nd B-day. Yesterday I received a package in the mail from my sister in-law Kristi, she had sent me a little birthday surprise, the cutest pink earings. As soon as I saw them I put them on. I didn't even care that I was wearing a purple shirt. It brightened my day, which wasn't hard to do. Beckham had been crying all day and was having a hard time sleeping. I was going nuts. By the time Aaron got home I was a little feisty and it didn't take long before he noticed. He instantly blamed it on the earings. He kept saying if you keep acting like this you will have to return those earings or he would say, Oh, so you get a pink pair of earings and all of a sudden your attitude sucks! So, on my birthday I left the earings on the dresser and out of my ears.

It was a great day non the less. I got a bike ride in first thing in the morning. Aaron made me waffles from scratch, they were tasty! My sister Deena watched Beckham while Aaron and I went to a movie, we saw the Proposal. It was the perfect B-day movie. Than we picked up Beck and headed to Pocatello for dinner at Buddy's. Stacey and Niccole met up with us and we had a great time. Now I am home feeling tired and realizing I am no longer 25 and I cannot stay up late, my stamina is weak, and I couldn't be happier. I have an amazing husband who I love so much. He takes care of us and I enjoy spending time with him. Beckham is a good baby and he puts up with me always waking him up when I need to go somewhere or when I want to get a run in. My family is supportive and always encouraging me in everything I want to do and willing to help Aaron and I out whenever we need it. I also have the best friends anyone could ever ask for. Stacey is the best she is always willing to go along with all my crazy ideas. I have been dragging her along with all this running crap. It is nice to talk to someone about how bad it sucks to run (Thanks Stacey).

So at 32 I cannot complain. My life is perfect, with or without the Pink earings

Beckham's first race

Today was the dreaded 4 month check up with the Doc. I went well but we still have to go back because one of immunization shots was not in, so no shots yet today but we are going back. Beckham in weighing in at 18.2 and his height is 25.5, I am not sure what any of these means but there you have it!!

While we were there I noticed that the office that I take him to was having a fun run. I thought that will be great to do a quick little run it will keep me motivated... Well, it's only for the children. I was a little bummed until they told me that Beckham could sign up. It is going to be a lot of fun. I guess Beckham will get a T-shirt and a water bottle and the race is less than a mile so I don't mind pushing him in the jogger. But not too bad, 4 months and he is already starting to run! GOOD LUCK BABY B!

Thank You!!!

I just wanted to give a quick thanks to everyone who gave me advice on little Becks sleepless nights. The first night after posting the blog, he woke up around midnight, I did feed him, he was up again at 2:00 am. I stayed in bed and waited 15 minutes while he cried. After 15 minutes I walked back into his room and gave him his pacifier. He was instantly asleep! He didn't wake up again until 5 or so and that was just to eat. The next night we had the same type of success. He woke up and cried but he didn't cry as hard as the first night. The only probably was this time was I kept waiting for him to wake up so I slept like crap because I was so anxious. I ended up having to wake him up around 7:30 am because we needed to leave. How I hate to do that. What do THEY say, Never wake a sleeping baby...

Anyway, things are going good so far and I am hoping they only get better. I can actually feel peaceful nights coming my way!!! THANK YOU BLOGGERS!!!

And Aaron thought blogging was a waste of time...

Clumsy Lovers

This little cutie is Amy and Brad's little girl. She is the best kid ever.
Brad is in the yellow and the fellow in the overalls... I am not real sure. He must have been so excited to see the band that he forgot his shirt.
Stacey and Beckham
The ladies back together again!
Everyone enjoying the music, you can see Beckham's feet. He was passed out from all the excitement.

Last night the Clumsy Lovers were playing at ISU so I loaded up Beckham and headed to Pocatello for the day. We were able to eat lunch and hang out with Mikkel then Beckham got in a little nap at Aunt Stacey's house. I would have napped but I got caught up in checking out everyone's blogs... that is so addicting!! Once Stacey got home from work we drove down to the campus and got a spot in the shade so we could enjoy the band. Brad, Amy and their daughter Evie meet up with us as well. It was a lot of fun, just like the good old days, when Amy, Stacey and I were all roomies we use to go and listen to the Clumsy Lovers all the time. They're a band from Canada and would come to Pocatello a lot. It was funny to see the lead singer, he looked OLD. I guess it was about 10 years ago when we first saw them. Too bad Aaron had to work, I am sure he would have loved it!

Nice try

The first attempt at trying to feed Beckham rice. He wasn't having it.
Maybe it's because this is what he was looking at, a little distracting. I couldn't eat if this was in my face!

Everyone always asks me the million dollar question, "is Beckham sleeping through the night?".  I could only wish this was the case. I do miss the days of nice peaceful uninterrupted sleep ... He is still waking up every 3 hours to eat, all day and all night, AUGH!

I had the bright idea to start giving him rice right before bed. The first night I did this he slept 4 hours than he was up every other hour crying and wanting to eat. The next night it was the same type of thing happened. I than thought I need to mix it up like cereal instead of putting it in his bottle... That was a joke! The poor guy could not figure out what was going on, the whole spoon thing was too much for him.

I am not sure what to do... He is still waking up all night. The days I complained about seem like a dream to me now. Even last night he was up every hour and a half. Most of the time he only wants to eat for a few minutes and then he is out. I try to let him cry it out but he gets so out of control if I don't pick him up. Even if I pick him up and hold him to calm him down it doesn't work... This kid is working me over. He only wants to eat for a few minutes and then he will fall back asleep.

I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!!!!  Any suggestions??

Letter to Beckham

4 months, handsome little fellow
3 months, starting to get a little chunky
2 months, still a little peanut
1 week old, still in the NICU

You are 4 months old today. I cannot believe how fast the time has gone. It seems like just yesterday that we found out we were going to have a little baby! In fact it was exactly one year ago this month that we found out you were on your way. You are the best baby, always smiling and laughing. Even when it is time to go to bed you think if you keep smiling  I won't make you lay down. I love the fact that you try but no way pal, you need your sleep!

Some of my favorite things that you have done over the past 4 months are... You use to grunt when you were hungry. You now have figured out how to yell and cry so you do that more when you're hungry. Your fists are the best sucking toy. I can't keep them out of your mouth, I think once you figure out how to get your toys in there you'll ease up on your hands. They are chapped from all the spit and saliva. On your car seat you have a couple of little stuff animals that hang down that you can play with. You often yell at them and suck on their legs. I always tell you to be nice to your little friends and I am hoping that doesn't make you weird... letting you believe that they are real and that you're carrying on a conversation with them (sorry in advance if you're a little off)! You love to stand and while your standing you get a real goofy look on your face and your eyes get really big. You now are eating a little bit of rice for dinner and in the morning. You seem to love it. The T.V. I can't keep you from watching it. If it's on you wont pay attention to anyone else. You also love being outside. Yesterday when your Dad and I were changing your diaper you managed to find your little boy parts. Your grabbed them so tight your Dad couldn't handle it and he had to pull your hand away (it's funny it only took 4 months to find that thing)! Just today I noticed that your hair likes to stand straight up in the air and it is fuzzy... Super cute!

These are just a few things that I love about you. I can't wait until you start to roll over and sit up. Maybe by the time you turn 5 months you will have learned to do some of these things, but I don't want to rush you. I want to enjoy all the little things you are doing right now!!! I LOVE YOU BECK!

Quick trip

Beckham enjoying the swim meet
With a towel like this how could you not love swimming
All of us at lunch

Owen wanted his picture taken by this lady really bad... He has a great smile!
My quick trip to Boise wast a last minute decision but a good one. I first stopped in Twin Falls and spent the day with the family then Kalli and I went to Boise for the day on Tuesday. I was in desperate need of some GOOD running shoes and all the stores in Idaho Falls were very limited in their shoes selection. After picking up my new shoes we went to lunch with Kristi and the kids. I can't remember the name of the place we ate at but it was fun and tasty. We were also lucky enough to catch Payton and Avery's swim meet. Those girls are like fish, fast little swimmers. It was a quick but fun trip.

We always love spending time with the McBride Clan. Thanks for spending the day with us!

Happy Birthday America

This is actually a picture of Mikkel and Ann watching the fireworks, you just cant see the fireworks!
Beckham dancing with his Grandma Winder
Aaron and his brother Matt mixing up some funnel cakes
This is the line for the funnel cakes!!!
Mikkel rockin out to the sweet band.
Beckham and I just hanging out.
Tyler and Ann working in the funnel cake stand
Beckham and Me again, enjoying the night, we are usually asleep this late!
Mikkel just being the best Aunt ever!

The 4th of July was a lot of fun this year. Mikkel came up to watch Beckham while Aaron and I worked at his families funnel cake and snow cone both down by the river front. Every year the Winder's have their funnel cake stand and people go crazy for these things (I can't blame them, I love them too!). We left the river front around 5 and give Mikkel a break from Beck so she could go hang out with Carson. When Mikkel got back we decided to head back down to the river to watch the fireworks.

When we got there the line for the funnel cakes was so long, Aaron quickly moved into action and started cooking some cakes to help out the family. Mikkel and I on the other hand, hung out and enjoyed some music and food. The fireworks were hard to see from where we were and Aaron was pretty tired from a long day so we left a little early to bet the traffic. Mikkel had met with Carson so we had her stay with him so they could have their first 4th of July together.

Food, Music, Fireworks, and Family... That is what the 4th is all about and we had all of that. The day was perfect.

Firecracker run

Today Stacey and I ran our first 5K. We actually had a blast. Last night we had Aaron drive us around the course so we could see what we were up against. I wasn't nervous until we drove the course. It seemed so long... Our only goal was to finish the race and not walk.

When we got up this morning we were feeling good. When we got to the race is a different story. We saw people warming up, doing sprints, and a lot of short short running shorts! We knew we were out of our league. We then talk to a guy who said his only goal was to come in before the parade floats (the race is along the parade route). This quickly became our new goal.

The race went great for our first time. We came in quicker than we thought and we were able to kick in it at the end. There was a lady in front of us that I was determined to bet and she started to speed up so we really had to speed up. Don't worry we got her!!! We are actually excited about the next time we run and I think we will keep doing races. It was a great way to start off the 4th of July!!!
