HGTV

HGTV is often referred to at our house as, Karrie's Porn!!!
Aaron teases me all the time about watching it.
If the tv is on, chances are it's on HGTV.
A couple of days ago my sister Danette and I were talking
and she and her husband also have a thing for
HGTV!
She was telling me about this cute idea for a kids room.
As soon as she started to tell me all about it,
I knew it was going to be my next project.
So THANK YOU DANETTE and HGTV!

It is the pictures on the wall.
It is actually one of Beckham's books.
I tore the pictures out and put them on foam board.
HGTV put theirs in picture frames...
Beck LOVES it, he looks at them all the time and laughs.
He has even figured out a way to climb on the bed
so he can tear them off the wall.
(3m velcro strips are not a tough match for Beck)
Here is a closer look.
It was really easy to do and I love all the colors in the pictures.
As soon as Beck wakes up, this what he gets to look at now.

A little picture of Beck sleeping.
He keeps putting his legs through the bars
on his crib and they get stuck...
This kid is one in a million!

The power of a black T-shirt!

It all started 2 years ago.
I needed a black shirt for a wedding.
I went for a classic black v neck.
Cotton and comfy...
a couple of months later,
pregnant!
That comfy T-shirt only fit for a few more months.
80 pounds later, the comfy T found it's way
to very back, dark end of my closet.

Beckham entered the world and
a few months later
I reached clear in the back of my
closet for that Black T!
I could have sworn I shrunk that shirt when I tried it on.
It was so snug.
Well, lets be real,
I could barely pull it past my chest...
Misery, depression, defeat, pity party.

Black T-shirt,
back to the end of the closet.
Plates of veggies, salads, holding the mayo, diet soda only, and
miles and miles of running later...
I once again reached for my comfy black T.
After dusting it off and trying it on...
It fit, the black T fit!
Baggy and comfy, just like it once was.
Tears welling up of joy,
Success, victory, plain old PARTY!
Oh the power of a black
T-SHIRT!

New shoes and the Zoo

Beckham has been very LUCKY
to receive lots of shoes from his
older cousins,
maybe not ones that fit but he doesn't care,
he still LOVES to wear them!
These shoes are his favorite right now.
As soon as I get them on his feet, he takes off
running (as fast as he can) for the hardwood floors.
The sound of the shoe pounding on the ground
brings the biggest smile to his face.

So THANK YOU Owen for the NEW SHOES!

Now, a trip to the zoo with Aunt Kalli, Noah, and Olivia!

If you're thinking Beck looks un-interested,
YOU ARE RIGHT!

Noah and Olivia tried everything to get him excited.

Sitting on the rooster,

Playing in the nest,

Showing him the bunny,

I thought the zebra's were doing the trick.
He was staying in one place for more than 10 seconds.
A few more seconds and I realized he was only
enjoying banging on the fence.

Few more seconds and he was off!

He wanted to be Mr. Independent.
That has been the theme at our house
for awhile now.
So thanks for the effort at the zoo, Aunt Kalli, Noah, and Olivia!

(as you can see he is afraid Noah will try and grab his hand)
The Best Part Of the Zoo For Beck
is walking FREELY all by HIMSELF!

Did I blink?

Today was another rainy day at our house
but that was not going to keep us inside.
It was going to be the first day that Beck had to wear
REAL SHOES!
Laces and All, he LOVED them.
Laces tied in a double knot and
Mr. B was up and at 'em
He couldn't get enough.
Tapping his feet on the wood floors,
picking them up as if they weighed 50 pounds.

The way the made him look
grown up, just like a little boy
no longer my bAby.

I swear I must have blinked and this BABY
Became a BOY!

Stop Already!

Projects at our house start out with full force,
Me telling Aaron what I want.
Aaron sighing and thinking just another task on
his long list of projects.
Here is the latest.

Putting in a patio.
Perfect for this summer
Beck can run and play all day.
I can sit outside and enjoy the perks of being a
stay at home mom.
Well, this all started a month ago.
Aaron and I pulled all of our sod up
and ever since then it has rained.
I am not kidding buckets full of rain.
Every time we decide to pour the cement
the rain Gods come and pay us a visit!
Even Beck is sick of looking a circle full of dirt!
Come on out sun,
I have lawn furniture that needs
assembled and sat in.
We are going to attempt to pour tomorrow afternoon
fingers crossed that the rain will stop long enough
for us to finally get that patio put in and we can
move onto our next PROJECT!
